Address by Alexey Albu to a commemoration rally for the Odessa massacre to take place in Vienna, Austria, on May 2, 2017
Alexey Albu is an ex-deputy of the Odessa Regional Council, coordinator of Union Borotba (Struggle) in the Odessa region, one of the leaders of the Anti-maidan. He gained popularity among opponents of the new regime when calling for a referendum on the establishment of autonomy for Odessa in the session of the Regional Council. Having been victimized in the Odessa trade union building (see pictures with head injuries), he had to take refuge in Donbass.
Dear comrades, friends!
Three years ago, the whole civilized world shuddered in horror at the terrible events in Odessa. On that day a crowd of brutal neo-Nazis killed many peaceful Odessa citizens who did not agree with the position of the new Ukrainian authorities. Officially, it is claimed that 42 people died at the House of Trade Unions from fire and smoke, as well as from falling. However, this is not true. People in the House of Trade Unions also perished from the bullets, knives and batons of punishers. Many people were killed on the ground after they jumped out of the burning building. We also have great doubts about the actual death toll.
After the massacre, many questions arose. But we found the answers to many of them. We know who took the neo-Nazis to Odessa. We know who gave the command to send an angry mob from the city center to another part of Odessa — Kulikovo Field. We know who shot with firearms, who finished off people jumping out of windows.
If the thread of this crime is untangled, then it leads to very high offices. This fact is the reason for the impunity of the organizers and executors of this massacre.
I firmly believe that justice will prevail. I firmly believe that the murderers will get the punishment they deserve. And I am grateful to all those caring people who refuse to let this tragedy be forgotten, who continue to struggle with all available means.
Comrades! On behalf of all anti-fascists in Odessa, I want to express my gratitude to you for your stance. Your solidarity gives us hope and strength. We will continue to fight against fascism until the end. To Victory!

Дорогие товарищи, друзья!
Три года назад весь цивилизованный мир содрогнулся в ужасе от страшных событий в Одессе. В этот день толпа озверевших неофашистов убила множество мирных одесситов, не согласных с позицией новой украинской власти. Официально считается, что в Доме профсоюзов погибло 42 человека от огня и дыма, а также от падения с высоты. Однако это не является правдой.
Люди в Доме профсоюзов погибали также от пуль, ножей и дубинок карателей. Многих людей добивали на земле, после того как они выпрыгнули из горящего здания. Также у нас есть большие сомнения на счёт числа погибших.
После этого массового убийства возникло множество вопросов. Но ответы на многие из них мы нашли: мы знаем кто свозил неонацистов в Одессу. Мы знаем кто давал команду отправить разъярённую толпу из центра города в другой регион Одессы – Куликово поле. Мы знаем кто стрелял из огнестрельного оружия, кто добивал выпрыгнувших из окон людей.
Если распутывать нить данного преступления то её конец приводит в очень высокие кабинеты. Именно этот факт является причиной безнаказанности организаторов и исполнителей этого массового убийства.
Я твёрдо верю, что справедливость восторжествует. Я твёрдо верю, что убийцы понесут заслуженное наказание. И я благодарен всем неравнодушным людям, которые не дают забыть эту трагедию, которые продолжают бороться всеми доступными методами.
Товарищи! От лица всех антифашистов Одессы я хочу выразить благодарность вам за вашу позицию. Ваша солидарность даёт нам надежду и силы. Мы будем продолжать бороться с фашизмом до конца. До Победы!
